Apocalyptic new single from NMA

New Model Army play the Brighton Concorde 2 while touring their new album 'Winter'. 16-11-17

New Model Army have released their first track from the forthcoming album ‘From Here’ which is scheduled for release on August 23rd. ‘End of days’ is not much of a departure musically from any of their recent material, with Justin’s frantic acoustic guitar playing which lays the foundation for the rest of the band to do what they do best. Dean White kicks the song off with some truly appropriate doom-laden keyboards which reappear during the refrain. Ceri provides a thumping bass accompaniment to Michael’s tribalistic drums while Marshall compliments the mix with some beautifully understated lead guitar. Lyrically the songs explores Justin’s ongoing obsession with our impending doom which seems to carry more and more resonance in our increasingly uncertain world. But most importantly it has that sing along chorus that will ensure that the sweaty bare chested throng will raise their arms aloft in unison when we get to see it performed live. The accompanying promo is another editing masterpiece by Dean who animates the artwork of long term collaborator Joolz Denby to glorious effect. An extremely promising opening shot from a much anticipated new album that was recently created amid the frozen bleakness of the Norwegian coastline. While it is true that watching the news these days is a depressing experience with it’s endless forecasts of climate breakdown and impending war with Iran; at least this lot are ensuring that the end of the world will an absolutely banging soundtrack.
